Amazon Prime: 10 most popular features

Here is a list of the most popular features that are included in your Prime subscription. Here's a look at every single benefit included with Prime, along with a few Amazon services you might think are included, but actually cost extra.

The full list of Prime perks is surprisingly long, starting with everyone's favourite:

  1. Free two-day shipping (or better)

Many of Amazon's physical goods will be shipped to your door in two days, and what's especially remarkable about this is there's no minimum order. If you are not in a hurry, you can choose to forgo two-day delivery in place for credit that can be applied to digital purchases (e-books, movie rentals, etc.).

  1. Free release-date delivery

Whether it is to preorder a new book from a favorite author or a hot new tech product, all Prime members will receive that item on the exact day it's released, not a day later.

  1. Free two-hour delivery

“Prime Now” provides amazing hyper-local services, delivering restaurant food, groceries, and other items in just two hours -- or within one hour for some extra charges.

  1. Free (or flat-rate) grocery and household item delivery

Prime Pantry will deliver the grocery items for free.

  1. Whole Foods discounts

You can score exclusive discounts on Amazon.com. Prime members will get special savings and other in-store benefits on Whole Foods items.

  1. Unlimited photo storage

Much like Google, Amazon Prime offers subscribers unlimited cloud storage for photos. Amazon Drive app is used to upload pictures from phones and tablets. There's a desktop app also (for Windows and Mac) that can archive photos from your hard drive.

Apart from this, Prime Photos provides you 5GB of storage for documents and videos.

  1. One free e-book per month

Each month, Amazon Prime subscribers get to pick a free e-book as part of the Kindle First program.

  1. Early access to Lightning deals

Amazon's Lightning deals run for limited time and/or while supplies last. If you're having a Prime subscription, you will get access to those deals 30 minutes ahead of non-subscribers.

  1. Free books and magazines

Amazon's new Prime Reading feature differs from the Lending Library in some ways. First difference is that it is not limited to Kindles. The catalog of free e-books is available to be accessed on phones, tablets and any other gadget capable of running a Kindle app. Second difference is that the collection includes not only books, but also a rotating selection of magazines, comics, travel guides, Kindle Singles and more.

  1. Free audiobooks

Audible Channels for Prime gives the Prime member, an unlimited access to a selection of original audio series and select audiobooks. But you have to remember that these audiobooks are limited to streaming; you can't download them for offline listening.
